GHOP Day of Prayer
By: Joey Geisel, Pastor of Prayer
On September 6th, Pastor Gary and I hosted eight prayer meetings for our congregation to pray for the Fall Series, and the Lord honored us with His presence all day! Between 6:00 am and 9:00 pm, more than 120 of you came and engaged in prayer with passion and great attitudes as you sacrificed time before work, on lunch break, or for part of your evening to pursue the heart of God.
Each hour had a different worship leader than the one before; sometimes a single musician and sometimes a full band! We prayed by ourselves and in groups, sometimes lining up at the microphone for short heartfelt prayers, but all day the energy kept moving forward and the room never felt tired or bored. My favorite moments were near the end when Will brought a troop of middle schoolers in from their youth meeting (bless their hearts, we grownups got to pray for them and promised not to bite!), and then minutes later he came back with a stream of older teens. It was such an honor and a joy to see all ages in the GHOP doing the work of intercession!
