Vision Camp 2025
“We got him! We got him!”
Carole woke up in the middle of the night to her phone ringing, and half asleep tried to parse out what they meant. “Got who!?!”
“Moga! We caught him, held him down as we cast out the demons, and he’s coming to devotions in the morning!”
“Great! Bring him in”
Moga was the village demoniac. He’d stand on a street corner, stark naked, and harrass people, and he’d been doing it for 20 years. Whenever the police got him and sent him to prison or the insane asylum in the capital, he’d escape and run, again naked, all the way back to the village, a distance which would take 8 hours by car. Nobody could get him, tame him, or heal him. Until Carole’s local mission house prayed and fasted.
Five men went out one night in the power of the Holy Spirit, and what man had failed at for years, God did in one night.
The next morning, he was in their house of prayer, sane, washed, and clothed. They cut his hair and fed him breakfast. God transformed this man overnight from a crazy demoniac to someone thirsty for the living water.
Rumors spread quickly around town that Moga was at the mission house! The people who lived in the village couldn’t believe it! Government officials came to see if it was true, and couldn’t deny it. Here was the impossible. They had no choice but to believe in the power of the one true God, and the regular attenders at the house of prayer went from just a few to standing-room only.
Carole Ward, who serves in several Central African countries, told this story to us this past weekend at our second annual Vision Camp. We praise the Lord for what He’s doing through her: hundreds of thousands of lives transformed and over 1,000 indigenous missionaries dedicated to taking the Gospel to the unreached. But this past weekend wasn’t about Carole Ward or her ministry in Central Africa, but about what God can do through each of us if only we submit ourselves completely to his will and get down on our knees and pray.
If you missed it, come to Vision Camp 2026 next January!
Let’s be transformed into the image of Christ, conducting our lives as living sacrifices for the glory of King Jesus. Amen!
“I was impacted by the testimonies of fasting and prayer that Ms Carole shared. I long to see the church in Arlington grow in these disciplines, and I want to grow in them as well. The Lord used this weekend to grow my passion for Him, which is what I prayed for and hoped for. I’m excited to see what He does through all of us who attended.” —Boudica Mills
“Vision Camp was a life-changing experience! Lives and hearts were changed! My heart is open to whatever God has my family to do and wherever God has us to go!” —Jennifer Mejia
“The stories shared by Carole were a powerful reminder that prayer and fasting are our greatest assets as we pursue kingdom work and that nothing is impossible with God.” —Mindy Bartells
“Carole and Steve's teachings encouraged me to follow Jesus with everything I have. And to fast and pray for God to move in hard areas.” —Titus Fisher
