Past Events & Resources
Men of Grace Annual Cookouts
Our Cookouts, held in fall or winter, usually see 200+ men gathered on a Saturday evening. We enjoy mountains of Texas slow-roasted barbecue pork and chicken with all the fixings, a raffle of some great "guy stuff" including stuff like a big-screen TV, a GoPro camera, sports gear, tools, or a firearm. We then worship and hear from a special speaker.
In Fall 2017, we enjoyed hearing from Olympic Gold Medalist Joe Deloach regarding his journey of faith. A great time was had by all! Click here to hear Joe's message.
In Fall 2018, we were inspired and challenged by Jack Murphy, a Surfing Hall of Fame champion, musician, author, artist, and jewel thief who turned to Jesus and now reaches thousands of men including prisoners through his role as a speaker.
In Fall 2019, we heard from our guest speaker, Tino Wallenda, (one of many renowned Wallendas) who engineered the rig for his grandfather’s sky walks, and performed himself. The Wallendas are a generational circus performing family, who perform various feats such as high-rise tightrope walking, acrobatics, pyramids, bare-horse back riding, and much more! His testimony and the stories of his life challenged us all!
In Fall 2021, we heard from author/speaker Joel Richardson who challenged us to look beyond the American media messaging and see what the Lord is actually doing all around the world, despite the foreboding developments that seem to align with Biblical prophecy for the end times.
In Winter 2023, we enjoyed the illusionist team David and Kylie Knight who not only amazed us with their skills with cards, ropes, and disappearing people, but also challenged us to see ourselves as God sees us: as uniquely created by Him with a heart full of love.
Serving to Bless Work Day
Twice a year the Men of Grace organize work teams that take care of household projects for the people of our congregation. We trim trees, fix broken things, install things, organize, clear away debris, tear down/out/up old stuff, and haul away — whatever needs to be done! Both men and women make up work crews.
Spring 2018 - 50 men on 7 teams tackled projects at 16 homes on Saturday, June 10th, 2018.
Fall 2018 - 40+ men and women on 5 teams worked at 12 homes on Saturday, Oct 20, 2018.
Fall 2019 - 70+ men and women on 11 teams worked at 20 homes on Saturday, Oct 5, 2019.
Spring 2020 - 40+ men and women on 9 teams worked on 14 homes on Saturday, June 13, 2020
Winter 2021 - 57 men and women on 12 teams worked on 15 homes on Saturday, Feb 27, 2021
Spring 2021 - 35 men and women on 8 teams worked on 12 homes on Saturday, Jun 12, 2021
Fall 2021 - 31 men and women on 8 teams worked on 11 homes on Saturday, Oct 30, 2021
Spring 2022 - 30 men and women on 7 teams worked on 14 homes on Saturday, June 11, 2022 and the following days.
